About the Southern Airways logo
Southern Airways was a local service airline headquartered in Atlanta, flying scheduled passenger routes across the southern United States from 1949 until 1979. In July 1979 it merged with North Central Airlines to form Republic Airlines. Its identity reflects the postwar years of regional air travel in the American South.
