About the Garuda Airlines logo
Garuda Indonesia is the flag carrier of Indonesia. It succeeded KLM’s Indonesian subsidiary, and President Sukarno suggested the name Garuda, the mythical bird that carries the Hindu god Vishnu.
The bird has remained its symbol, though the drawing has changed over the years, from an early triangular bird with a red and white shield to a stylized Garuda with wings formed by bent lines.
