About the Luft Hansa logo
This is the original Luft Hansa, founded in January 1926 through the merger of Junkers Luftverkehr and Deutsche Aero Lloyd, and active until the end of World War II. It is a different company from the Lufthansa re-established in 1953, which later took up the name and the symbol.
The symbol is a crane in a circle, drawn by Otto Firle in 1918, years before the airline existed. These watches show the crane under the earlier Luft Hansa spelling. Collectors of German aviation history will notice how different these marks look from the modern Lufthansa ones. This watch brings that prewar German aviation emblem to your wrist.
