Det Danske Luftfartselskab, known as DDL or Danish Air Lines, was founded in 1918 and is counted among the oldest airlines in the world. It was Denmark’s national airline, flying mainly from Copenhagen, and around 1950 it joined its Norwegian and Swedish counterparts in the consortium that became Scandinavian Airlines System.
