About the Slick Airways logo
Slick Airways was an American freight airline based in California, flying from 1946 to 1966. It began as a scheduled all-cargo carrier with Curtiss C-46 Commandos, later flew Douglas DC-4s and DC-6As, Lockheed Super Constellations and Canadair CL-44 turboprops, and in its last years concentrated on military charters. Its name and lettering speak of speed and hauling goods across the country. The watches in this collection recall that early air-cargo era.
