About the Varney Speed Lines logo
Varney Speed Lines was the name carried in the mid-1930s by the airline operation that grew from Walter Varney’s business in the American Southwest. Its Southwest Division needed money for a new route, and Robert F. Six bought in and became general manager in 1936. The division was renamed Continental Air Lines in 1937.
The name speaks to the pride of the era in fast, modern air travel, and its lettering has a streamlined feel. The watches in this collection reproduce that artwork. This watch brings that streamlined airline spirit to your wrist.
